Get ready for an epic adventure in Pokémon GO! The game is about to get even more exciting with the introduction of level 80, offering a whole new world of challenges and rewards. The journey to level 80 is a game-changer, and we're here to break it down for you!
New Level Cap: Level 80
The trainer level cap is getting a major upgrade, moving from level 50 to a whopping level 80! This means a complete rebalance of the leveling system, allowing trainers to progress faster and earn rewards more frequently. It's a fresh new take on the game, and we can't wait to see how it unfolds.
A whole host of new rewards are up for grabs as you level up. Think increased storage capacity for your Pokémon, items, gifts, and postcards. And let's not forget the new avatar items, starting as early as level 25! But here's the catch: this level cap increase only applies to trainer levels, not Pokémon levels.
Impact on Your Trainer Level
When the leveling update goes live, all the XP you've earned so far will be put to good use. Your new trainer level will be determined based on the rebalanced leveling curve. And the best part? No one will drop in level! However, the XP needed for your next level might change, so keep an eye on that.
Trainers at level 23 and above are in for a treat, as they'll gain at least one level. And for those who've been grinding away at levels 41 to 50, the Level-Up Research tasks for those levels will be removed. But don't worry, new tasks will be added for levels 71 to 80, offering fresh challenges and rewards.
Daily Adventure Egg
Starting at level 15, trainers will have access to a free Daily Adventure Egg. This egg will hatch a Pokémon and reward you with a massive 10,000 XP! Here's how it works: when you log into Pokémon GO on a new day, the Daily Adventure Egg will automatically be placed in its own Incubator. You can only have one of these eggs at a time, and it will hatch after exploring a distance of 1 km. The best part? It won't count towards your current Egg storage, so you can keep collecting those regular eggs too!
And here's a pro tip: make sure Adventure Sync is activated so you can record your distance walked, even when the app is closed. You don't want to miss out on any XP!
New Avatar Rewards
Starting at level 25, trainers can earn a variety of new avatar rewards to customize their look. From Poké Ball caps and shoes to Great Ball jackets and Ultra Ball poses, there's something for everyone. And the best part? These rewards are earned at specific levels, so you have something to work towards. Here's a sneak peek at some of the rewards:
- Level 25: Poké Ball Cap
- Level 30: Poké Ball Shoes
- Level 79: Level 79 Hairstyle (Short and Long)
- Level 80: Level 80 Jacket
Leveling Up Rewards
Leveling up just got even more rewarding! Trainers will now be able to earn increased storage for their Pokémon, items, gifts, and postcards. This means you can go above and beyond the existing storage capacity limits, and the best part? It's all free! No need to purchase any additional storage.
Lucky Friends at Level 70
Trainers at level 70 and above will have an increased chance of becoming Lucky Friends with trainers they've achieved Best Friends status with. This is a great way to strengthen your bonds and potentially unlock some awesome bonuses.
New XP Level Requirements
With the new level cap, the XP requirements have been updated. Here's a breakdown of the XP needed to reach key milestone levels:
| Level | XP Requirement |
| ------ | -------------- |
| 10 | 48,000 XP |
| 20 | 258,000 XP |
| 30 | 1,083,000 XP |
| 40 | 3,953,000 XP |
| 50 | 12,753,000 XP |
| 60 | 34,353,000 XP |
| 70 | 85,853,000 XP |
| 80 | 203,353,000 XP |
To reach levels 71 to 80, trainers will need to earn a certain amount of XP and complete new Level-Up Research tasks at each level. It's a challenging but rewarding journey!
